Jaiñtia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) MDC Awhai Andrew Shullai has slammed the State government over the non-functional 100-bedded Maternal & Child Health Hospital in Panaliar, Jowai stating that the inaugural function was just a show to impress the people.
Shullai who visited the hospital today said that the medical facility was just in the name without any doctors or staff.
The hospital was inaugurated by Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on December 4.
The MDC said that most of the rooms in the hospital are under lock and key. “People had expectations and this government has failed to deliver,” Shullai said, adding, “The inauguration just to fool the people as nothing is there on the ground.”
