The Hynñiewtrep Integrated Territorial Organisation (HITO) today took out a floral protest march against firing of tear gas at protesting contractual teachers on October 6.
Members of the group marched towards the main secretariat and offices of political parties, including the BJP, the NPP, besides the CM’s bungalow and threw flowers.
Several contractual teachers also took part in the procession which started from the Civil Hospital junction.
HITO president Donbok Dkhar said, “If the MDA government continues to provoke and discriminate the citizens, HITO will be forced to give AK-47 guns to its members. We don’t mind shedding blood for the jaidbynriew so that this government will know that a man lives every day but will die only once.”
The group wanted the police officers involved to have been suspended but they have not and it has also found the Home Minister’s assurances on the issue to be underwhelming.
According to HITO, the ‘flowers of redemption’ was to tell the politicians that they need to “repent of their sins”.
