The District Magistrate of West Jaintia Hills has declared dry days on account of neighbouring areas of Assam going to the polls in the second phase of the general election to the Lok Sabha on Friday.
The dry days came into effect from 4pm today and will continue until the conclusion of voting on April 26.
All IMFL licensed premises (wholesale and retail), bars, canteens, country spirit shops, including outstills, shall remain closed on the above-mentioned dates.
