There were 50 new cases of Covid-19 in East Khasi Hills today, the highest single-day figure since October 16.
Statewide there were 58 cases, with 61 recoveries and two fatalities.
One death each was in East Khasi Hills and West Jaiñtia Hills and both persons were unvaccinated, the Health Department informed.
East Khasi Hills accounted for 50 recoveries and there were 11 between the other 10 districts.
There are now 426 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 283 active cases, West Khasi Hills 55, West Jaiñtia Hills 27, Ri-Bhoi 21, West Garo Hills 13, East Garo Hills 10, South West Khasi Hills six, East Jaiñtia Hills four, North Garo Hills four, South West Garo Hills two and South Garo Hills one.
In all, Meghalaya has had 83,685 Covid-19 cases, of which 426 are active, 81,807 have recovered and 1,452 have died from the virus. The recovery rate is 97.76 percent. The fatality is 1.74 percent. The seven-day rolling average for new cases is 43.00 and for new deaths is 0.86.
