The East Jaiñtia Hills District Election Officer in an order issued today has directed all Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to distribute Form 12D to the absentee voter person with disabilities, senior citizens and Covid-19 suspect/affected to facilitate voting of such persons by postal ballot.
According to the instructions, for distribution of Form 12D, the BLO will visit the houses of the absentee voters in the category as per detail provided by the RO in the Polling Station area and deliver the form. The acknowledgment obtained from them shall be deposited to the RO.
The order said that if an elector is not available, the BLO will share his/her contact details and re-visit to collect it within a period of five days following the date of the notification.
Furthermore, the elector may or may not opt for a postal ballot. If he/ she opts for a postal ballot, then the BLO will collect the filled-in Form 12D from the house of the elector and deposit it with the RO within five days following the date of the notification.
The Sector Officer shall supervise the process of the distribution and collection of Form 12D by the BLOs under the overall supervision of the RO. A list of PWD and Senior Citizens and Form 12D is to be collected from the concerned Enumerator.
