Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma today inaugurated beautification projects of Araimile, Hawakhana, Ringrey and Chandmary junction located in Tura.
Virtually inaugurating the projects from the district auditorium in he said the beautification of Tura has changed the ambience and transformed the look of our beloved town. “The glory of Tura town has been restored through the Tura Beautification Project,” he said, adding, “With the second phase of the ongoing street lighting project of 9 crores, the town would have an entire different look.”
He further urged residents to take ownership of Tura town and ensure cleanliness, care and maintenance.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated the iconic Arts and Culture Centre cum Tribal Museum located at Chidegre in West Garo Hills district.
He said that the centre will help in conserving indigenous tribal culture, practices and history and will aid in the promotion of the various art and musical forms of the tribes.
The Chief Minister was optimistic that once completed the centre would be one of the best museum in the State as well as in the Northeast.
