South Shillong MLA, Sanbor Shullai laid the foundation stone for construction of a PWD road sanctioned under the SPA Scheme 2022-23 at Rs 4.50 crore.
The road from Jingkieng Kong Nora Hynniewta up to the existing PWD road at Mawnei, Lower Lumparing will connect the existing Streamlet road in Laban.
The project is expected to ease the flow of traffic and safety of school and college Students and the public of the entire Greater Laban Area.
Speaking at the function yesterday, Shullai assured that the project will take off without any delay and expressed gratitude to the land owners for giving away their land for fee. He also lauded the efforts put on by the officials of PWD and the government and also the active participation of the resident of the areas.
Doncaster Shabong, Rangbah Shnong of Lower Lumparing, H. B. Wahlang, Rangbah Shnong of Upper Lumparing, Shaiphar Wahlang, Rangbah Shnong of Kynjat Phutbol-Riat Laban, members of MCIC 19th South Shillong Constituency and residents of the area were present at the function.
