The Meghalaya Asha Facilitator Workers Union has decided to go on a strike after the government failed to respond to their pending demands.
The decision was taken today at a meeting held in Lapalang. Union president, Bajanai Kharmujat told reporters that the union had submitted the list of demands to Health Minister, James Sangma on September 23, 2021 seeking revision in pay, honorarium, TA and DA, increase the incentives for extra duties as well as medical allowances.
She said the government has not responded to these demands even though the minister had informed them that the matter has been referred to the health department.
She said the union will cease work from February 25 till March.
