A 40-year-old man sustained severe leg injuries after being struck by a pickup truck (ML 13A 1479), which subsequently fled the scene.
The vehicle, however, was later found and turned over to Nongpoh police.
The accident occurred at around 8:45 pm at Mawdiangum on National Highway 6 in Ri-Bhoi. Following the collision, the victim, who sustained significant injuries to his leg, was immediately transported to Nongpoh Civil Hospital for treatment.
Nongpoh police responded promptly to the scene and are investigating the incident.
