The District Social Welfare Officer of East Khasi Hills observed International Day of Older Persons 2023 at a function held at Neng Gate Community Hall, Pynursla, yesterday.
The theme for the celebration was ‘Fulfilling the Promises of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights for Older Persons: Across Generations.’
The programme was attended by E Warjri, Sub-Divisional Officer of Pynursla as the chief guest in the presence of E Kharchandy, District Social Welfare Officer, officials from the office of the District Medical and Health Officer, District Child Protection Officer and senior citizens of the Pynursla area.
A medical and health checkup camp for senior citizens was held and gifts were also distributed to all senior citizens who attended the programme.
