ASHA workers of Ri Bhoi district chose to hold a cleaning drive during their third annual meet today which was aimed at creating awareness on the importance of cleanliness.
The cleaning drive was conducted at Nongpoh and its surrounding area including the national highway 6.
A meeting was held later at the campus of Community Hall, Sajer Nongpoh which was attended by Nongpoh MLA, Mayral Born Syiem, MDC, Balajied Rani and Mawhati MDC, Charles Marngar.
During the meeting the ASHAs discussed issues and problems they face. They discussed on the need to enhance their incentive and that the government should find time to address to their problems.
Adviser, Plielad Tiwsoh, ASHA president, Mirajune Myrsing, District Medical and Health Officer, P. Kharnary and ASHAs from different parts of the district also attended the meeting.
