Mawlai Block Congress Committee working president Marbud Dkhar has today resigned from the Congress party.
Dkhar has also quit as general secretary of Shillong City Congress Committee.
He submitted his resignation to Shillong City Congress Committee president Charles Pyngrope.
Dkhar said that he had no personal grudge against anybody in the party but his resignation was because he saw many public issues remained unresolved and were not addressed by the “weak government” and “weak opposition”.
It may be mentioned that Dkhar had contest the 2019 District Council election from Mawlai as Congress candidate but was defeated by independent candidate Teibor Pathaw.
