Jowai, Mar 20: The Indian Dental Association (IDA), Meghalaya Branch, today celebrated World Oral Health Day at the Halfway Home, Sabah Muswang.
Dr. Kyrpang Passah, who led the delegation of dentists in the district, highlighted about the day, which is celebrated every year on March 20. He expressed gratitude to the Society for Urban and Rural Empowerment (SURE) for allowing the association to celebrate the day with members of society who are in need of support.
The association also presented the residents of the home with gift hampers.
SURE secretary HH Mohrmen briefed the visitors about the project, which is sponsored by the Department of Social Welfare. The home caters to patients who no longer need institutional treatment.
Aiba Suchiang, a social worker and officiating Project Coordinator gave a brief report about the project.
