Shillong, Jan 31: The Dijako Agro Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) has dispatched 20 MT of ginger and turmeric to Jodhpur, Rajasthan, taking its cumulative procurement to 65 MT under a direct farmer-to-business (B2B) model.
This initiative has benefited over 500 small and marginal farmers in North Garo Hills by ensuring fair prices and eliminating intermediaries.
MNREDA Chairman Rupat Momin and Director Dr. Joram Beda highlighted the program’s scalability and sustainability at an interaction meeting in Kharkutta.
Dr. Beda noted that the initiative is a pilot under an ADB-supported project to create a replicable B2B framework for cash crops, strengthening market confidence and empowering farmers.
