A 7-year-old boy, who was playing with a rod on top of an under construction building sustained grievous injuries after he came into contact with a high-tension wire.
The incident occurred at Lama village in East Jaiñtia Hills on November 18.
The injured boy, Costoly Suchen had gone to play on top of the under construction ICDS office building where high-tension wires are above.
Police said the boy who picked up an iron road then accidently touched the high power line and sustained injuries on both his hands and legs.
The boy was rushed to the Khliehriat CHC and is under treatment.
Meanwhile, sources said the secretary, VEC of the Lama village was the contractor, who was also cautioned about the dangers above the construction site.
