A two-day District Level Industrial Exhibition was inaugurated today by Jowai MLA Wailadmiki Shylla at Ladthalaboh Indoor Sport Hall here.
West Jaiñtia Hills Deputy Commissioner BS Sohliya was also present on the occasion. The exhibition has been organised by the office of the General Manager of the District Commerce and Industrial Centre.
Around 40 stalls have been set up by different government departments and self-help groups showcasing a variety of interesting products.
Speaking at the inaugural function, Shylla encouraged entrepreneurs and artisans of the district to take advantage of the opportunity offered by the department and to give full dedication to their jobs.
Sohliya also appreciated the work of the artisans and encouraged them to continue to participate in such platforms where they can exchange their ideas and views and learn from each other.
The main aim of the exhibition is to encourage unemployed youths to establish and start their own businesses, with events of this kind giving opportunities to local entrepreneurs and artisans to exhibit and showcase their art and products.
