A national pre-conference workshop on quality nursing ahead of the CAHOCON 2024, a global healthcare conclave, was held in Shillong today.
The workshop was organized by the Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organizations (CAHO) in collaboration with Bethany and Nazareth hospitals which was attended by 240 delegates from across the region, alongside nine faculty members representing various institutions nationwide.
The workshop underscored the pivotal role of quality nursing in modern healthcare, emphasising a comprehensive approach to patient well-being, safety, and outcomes.
Attendees delved into the importance of evidence-based, patient-centred care practices aimed at optimising health outcomes. Central to discussions were strategies for implementing stringent infection control measures, meticulous documentation procedures, and the utilization of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to elevate care standards.
A panel discussion was also held on nursing empowerment, exploring avenues to enhance the professional development and influence of nursing professionals within the healthcare landscape.
CAHOCON is scheduled to take place in Kolkata on from April 5 to April 7 with a focus on making healthcare efficient, effective, economical and equitable.
