Members of the Meghalaya State Commission for Women under the leadership of Theilin Phanbuh called on the Director General of Police R Chandranathan today to discuss cases received by the Commission in which members of the police force are respondents.
During the interaction, the Commission also suggested that sensitization programmes for police officials should be conducted on a regular basis and necessary steps should be initiated to avert and resolve such incidents.
I Nongrang, Additional Director General of Police, who was also present during the discussion, avowed that numerous training programmes pertaining to sensitizing the police force have been conducted in the past and similar training will also be organized in the days to come.
