Forest officials from the Dainadubi Forest Range Office in North Garo Hills district apprehended a Maruti van while it was carrying illegal timber.
According to forest officials, the van was abandoned by its occupants after it was stopped by forest officials at about 6 am yesterday.
The vehicle and the timber it carried inside have been seized by the department with the same expected to go to Court after a case was filed on the matter.
