Shillong, Jul 21: The Pynursla Civil Sub-Division has announced revised road closure timings along the Laitlyngkot-Lyngkyrdem stretch via the diversion through Laitlyngkot, Ïew Mawiong, Umthli, Nongthymmai and Laitkynsew, effective from July 22.
According to the public notice, light motor vehicles will be permitted to ply throughout the day. However, night closure will be enforced from 10 pm to 5 am.
Movement of medium and heavy commercial vehicles is restricted. Vehicles carrying essential commodities will be allowed only with prior permission from the administration or competent authority.
Commuters have been advised to exercise extreme caution and to avoid non-essential travel during or immediately after heavy rainfall or at night.
In emergencies, ambulances, fire services and police may be granted access during closure periods, subject to safety assessment by on-site authorities.
