Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, visited Ri-Bhoi today to review the various developmental initiatives undertaken in the ‘aspirational district’.
His visit focused on assessing progress in five key indicators – health and nutrition, education, agriculture and water resources, financial inclusion and skill development, and infrastructure. He also conducted a field inspection of the pineapple processing unit at Umdihar village.
The visit commenced with a review meeting on the Aspirational District Programme. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Abhilash Baranwal, Additional Deputy Commissioners (ADCs), Extra Assistant Commissioners (EACs) and officials from various line departments.
During the review meeting, Baranwal delivered a presentation highlighting the progress made under the Aspirational District Programme, detailing achievements across the key development indicators.
