Nongpoh, Aug 27: Jorabat was hit by severe waterlogging again following heavy rain, with low-lying areas under the bridge inundated and traffic on National Highway-6 disrupted.
Residents said the area faces recurring flooding during rain, with accumulated water turning into a stream and affecting travel between Meghalaya and Assam.
Despite several meetings between Ri-Bhoi (Meghalaya) and Kamrup (Assam) administrations, no permanent solution has been implemented yet.
Residents and commuters have urged both states to take immediate coordinated action.
