Shillong, Aug 27: MY Bharat Ri-Bhoi, Ri-Bhoi College and University of Science & Technology (USTM) joined the nationwide Khelo India Dialogue (Yuva Samvaad) ‘Khel Ki Baat PM Modi ke Saath’ on National Sports Day today.
The dialogue, held at 1600 venues across the country, featured a virtual address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who said the platform allows youth ideas to shape India’s sports vision and Viksit Bharat, and stressed sports’ role in keeping youth away from drugs.
At Ri-Bhoi College, Nongpoh MDC Matthew Kenneth Makdoh and Dr E Kharkongor attended as guests.
Sportspersons Mercia Dohling and Johny Nongrum shared experiences.
NSS PO Y.V. Syiemlieh administered the Nasha Mukh Yuva for Viksit Bharat pledge to over 150 participants.
At USTM, Chief Functionary of the State Level Coordinating Agency (SLCA), Dr Sondeep Hanse was chief guest and led the pledge with over 200 participants.
Sportsperson Jeremiah D Sangma and former Lacrosse Association India president Prof Mipun Sharma interacted with youth.
