The Jaintia Students Union (JSU) is currently holding a protest at Kiang Nangbah Government College in Jowai due to the lack of classrooms and limited student intake capacity.
The union is demanding the introduction of an evening section at the college and a morning section at Government Boys’ Higher Secondary School to address the admission issues.
With over 350 students already denied admission, the JSU seeks to increase the intake capacity and provide opportunities for more students. The JSU said that the protest might be called off if the District Administration agrees to send a letter granting admission to students who have not received places yet.
