The state government has agreed to release the tied scheme of more than Rs 20 crore to the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), a subject that had caused some friction between the two.
Informing this today after meeting Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, the KHADC Chief Executive Member, Titostarwell Chyne, said that CM assured him that the state will release the funds allocated for public works by the Centre to the district council.
However, for funds meant for drinking water projects, the KHADC will meet with the state’s Public Health Engineering Department to ensure that there is no duplication of work.
