A ‘Beautiful Mind’, an event with a focus on mental health wellness and artistic expression was held at the St. Xavier’s College, Umoid in South West Khasi Hills district yesterday.
The event was organised by the Department of Psychology and Wellbeing of Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU) in collaboration with the District Mental Health Program.
Dr. Porsara M. Kharbhih, Head of the Psychology and Wellbeing Department at MLCU, and Alcydalyne Lyngkhei, a well-known clinical psychologist from Mawkyrwat shared insightful speeches outlining the significance of mental health awareness.
Song and dance were performed by students to set the tone for a day of optimism and creativity. An interactive session filled with engaging games was also conducted to foster camaraderie and fun among participants.
Open mic sessions, art therapy, mind games, and psychological testing, overseen by dedicated individuals were also part of the event.
