Shillong, Jun 21: The District Planning Office of South West Khasi Hills organised a one day skill development programme titled ‘Spectrum of Life – Exploring the Colours of Human Potential, Wellbeing and Growth’ in Mawkyrwat.
The programme saw participation from students across the district and aimed to create awareness on skill development, career opportunities, entrepreneurship and personal growth.
District Planning Officer FB Basan stressed the importance of nurturing talents, building employable skills and encouraging youth to explore diverse career pathways.
Deputy Commissioner AL Mawlong, who formally inaugurated the programme, emphasised the need for skill-based education and youth empowerment in a rapidly evolving job market.
The event was a continuation of the skill development initiative launched on June 5 for teachers of Mawkyrwat. Building on that programme, the session focused directly on students, exposing them to livelihood and skill development opportunities.
In the valedictory session, Superintendent of Police B Jyrwa addressed the growing concern of drug abuse among youth and urged students to pursue constructive activities and career goals.
