Sngap Syiem College in Mawkyrwat will host the first-ever Muay Thai Martial Arts coaching camp in South West Khasi Hills district.
President of the Muay Thai Association, Meghalaya (MTAM) Angelus Sun inaugurated the coaching camp.
In his brief address, he informed that the association established in 2016, has been able to host the national level at NEHU and its players have travelled 19 states to compete.
He said MTAM along with 28 other states are associated with United Mauy Thai Association of India (UMTAI), affiliated with the International Federation of Muaythai Associations (IFMA).
Sun also encouraged youth to take up the sport and urged them to work hard with passion. He said self-confidence is important to win in life.
Principal of the college, Dr. K.K. Nongsiej, Prof S. Ramsiej of the Philosophy Department, R. Turnia and students were present on the occasion.
