A six-day short term course in soft skills was organised in the lecture hall of the Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC), North-Eastern Hill University here today where 26 participants from various parts of India attended.
HDRC-NEHU director Prof. S Rama Rao in his welcome expressed his happiness on the overwhelming response from the participants. He lauded the efforts of the course coordinator, Dr. Kuheli Biswas Das for covering the various aspects of soft skills like personality development, communication skills, conflict management, teamwork etc.
He added that HRDC-NEHU has worked very hard for the last fifteen years and have had a greater outreach to enable teachers from different parts of India to update themselves in their respective subject, upgrade their skills and societal leadership and great resources have been spent to give the best learning experience and greater skills so that the quality in education and social skills is enhanced.
Dr. Das in her speech said that the course aims at empowering the skills in self-development and personality development and that teaching requires a wide range of skills which is divided into two parts, technical skills, which involves the knowledge of the subject and soft skills, which deals with inter and intra-relationships to enable to interact harmoniously with one another and to adapt to the ever changing scenario.
