The Federation of Khasi, Jaiñtia and Garo People (FKJGP) met with the Deputy Director of NEIGRIHMS over a reported ban on staff putting up Christmas decorations this year.
The pressure group had received “accurate information” that NEIGRIHMS Director Dr Nalin Mehta had directed employees not to decorate the hospital during Christmas. However, the FKJGP delegation that met Lt Cdr Pawan Deep on December 3 was told that there was no intention to ban the decoration of the hospital during Christmas.
The FKJGP expressed surprise that there would be any restriction on putting up Christmas decorations as this has been practised in previous years, does not disturb patients and could upset the state’s Christian population.
