Differently-abled persons in West Jaintia Hills district, has sought assistance from the Additional Deputy Commissioner in availing special job cards under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA).
Kelvin Suting and Krishna Phawa met with the ADC, who is also the project director of the Department of Rural Development Agency, FB Basan yesterday to empower persons with disabilities by providing them with the special job card so they get 100 days of employment a year.
Phawa said the persons with disabilities also have the right to get the special job card but many more have not avail it.
The group also urged the ADC to facilitate provision of special ration card.
