The East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner passed an order today lifting the odd-even restrictions imposed on public transport.
According to the order, public transport plying within the district can operate without odd-even restrictions during curfew relaxation hours, that is between 5am and 10pm.
Public transport drivers, however, must clearly indicate their Covid-19 vaccination status on the vehicle. Wearing N-95 masks or double-masking is mandatory and this applies to people in private vehicles as well.
“All public transport authorities shall strictly enforce Covid-19 appropriate behaviour and seating inside the vehicles,” the order stated. “Smoking, eating and removal of masks is strictly prohibited.”
