A stretch of the national highway 40 E from Nongtalang to Dawki that was recently repaired has turned back into battered state.
Craters and potholes have now increased in size and depth and this was because there is no drainage system, the Jaiñtia Students Unon (JSU), War Jaiñtia said.
The union said it is surprised how a road that has been constructed in crore of rupees now lies battered again. They stated that the amount spent for the road was Rs 43.70 crore.
Demanding construction of drains along the road, the JSU said this is essential since the state receives heavy rainfall and repairs or construction of roads should be done when the weather is clear.
