The East Jaintia Hills district administration today launched a Whatsapp chatbot, named ‘EJHD Assistant Bot’ to enhance citizen empowerment and provide easy access to information.
SDO (Sadar) A K Singh informed that the tool is specifically designed to cater to the needs of the residents of the district by offering a wide range of information with regards to various services, scholarships, grants, and others that are being provided by different government departments, included the Deputy Commissioner’s office, Block Development Office, Social Welfare Officer, Labour Commissioner’s Office, among others.
The services provided through chatbot encompasses a diverse array of offerings from obtaining ST Certificates, E-Shram registration, and Aadhaar services to acquiring EPIC cards, addressing public grievances, obtaining necessary permissions, accessing disaster relief assistance, and exploring government insurance schemes, tool covers it, Singh added.
Residents of the district can access the service by sendng a Whatsapp message saying “Hi” to 9233515972.
Once the conversation begins, users can select from a comprehensive list of services and choose their desired options. The options include obtaining information on the required documents for a particular service, accessing a step-by-step guide on how to avail the service and connecting with the appropriate personnel for any further enquiries or necessary guidance.
