A group of residents of West Khasi Hills will organise a public meeting at Nongstoin market on July 2 from 12 noon to discuss problems with the implementation of Aadhaar seeding in the district.
All members of the community have been invited to attend.
The organisers opined that many people in the district do not have Aadhaar numbers for one reason or another and are therefore at risk of losing out on central government benefits as the continued availability of these has been tied to beneficiaries having an Aadhaar number linked with their ration card, job card, etc.
