The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Shillong hosted its flagship event ‘Fashion Spectrum 2025’ today at its permanent campus at Umsawli, Mawpat.
The inaugural function was graced by Major General (Retd) Rajesh Kumar Jha Director (Personel) and Elbin Deepika Doley, GM (HR) CSR of North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO).
In his speech, Major General Kumar cheered upon the creativity of the students. He encouraged them to dream big and realize their dreams through sheer hard work and dedication.
Founder and Managing Director of Impulse Social Enterprises Hasina Kharbhih encouraged the students to pursue their passions and never give up on their dreams. “As you embark on this journey of creativity and innovation, remember that success is not just about achieving your goals, but also about the impact you make on the world around you,” Kharbhih said.
“Never be afraid to take risks, to experiment, and to push boundaries. It is through these efforts that you will truly shine and make a difference,” she added.
Campus Director Shankar Kumar Jha also addressed the gathering, encouraging the students to seize the opportunities presented by Fashion Spectrum 2025. “This event is not just a celebration of fashion and creativity, but also a platform for you to showcase your talents, to learn from each other, and to grow as individuals,” Jha said.
Events lined up for the two-day event are marathon, volleyball, tug of war, debate, creative writing, Eco Art Competition, pictionary, slam poetry, face painting, photography competition, carrom, chess, dance and singing competitions, Mr. and Ms. Spectrum, among others.
The first day of Spectrum 2025 saw the participation of students from various educational institutions like North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS), North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda and Homeopathy (NEIAH), Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU), Meghalaya Institute of Technology (MIT), NLU (National Law University) and others.
