In view of the regular traffic jam at Polo point especially during the peak hours, the Shillong Traffic Police (STP) will impose new traffic regulation on trial from September 6 from 7 am to 9 pm.
No right turn will be allowed for all vehicles proceeding from Fourth Furlong junction and Matri Mandir wanting to proceed towards CRPF, Merin’s Restaurant junctions and beyond.
Vehicles will be allowed to keep left and follow the road towards the Majestic Hotel then take a right turn at Oakland Post Office junction, CM’s Bungalow, Little Blossom School junction, Polo Towers towards Polo point and beyond.
Emergency service vehicles will however be facilitated, the Superintendent of Police said.
