A resident of Nartiang West, Katbanbiang Lamare has decided to contest the upcoming district council election from the Wahiajer Nartiang Constituency.
Lamare who works for the welfare of the people in the area, made the announcement today stating that the decision was taken seeing the support from the people of the area.
He said he chose to contest the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council election with an aim to ensure development, to help the poor and to strengthen the district council.
However, Lamare said he has not decided if he would contest the election from a political party or as an independent candidate.
