Rajya Sabha MP W.R. Kharlukhi today laid the foundation stone for the extension of the Mynthong community hall in Jowai.
The project is estimated at Rs 1.90 crore to be implemented by the Construction Committee of the dorbar.
The dorbar is hopeful that the community hall, which was constructed in 1993, could cater to 250 households of Mynthong with the extension.
According to the dorbar, the MP donated Rs 10 lakh and also received Rs 10 lakh through a scheme of the Jowai Municipal Board, besides Rs 1 lakh each from MDC Lakhon Dkhar and the village fund and others.
Waheh Shnong Mynthong L. Pohktai, Jowai MLA Wailadmiki Shylla Dolloi of Elaka Jowai Puramon Kynjing, residents and others were present on the occasion.
