The Voice of the People Party (VPP) today announced names of five candidates to contest the upcoming Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council election from constituencies in Ri Bhoi.
The candidates for the February 21 district council polls include Apkyrmen Lyngdoh for Jirang, Mathew Makdoh (Nongpoh), Banrikus Nongsteng (Umsning), Kynjohlang Rangtong (Mawhati) and Isynei Hinge (Umroi).
Shillong MP Dr Ricky AJ Syngkon and Mawlai MLA Brightstarwell Marbaniang who were present at the VPP meeting in Umsning, appealed to the people of Ri Bhoi to support the candidates to bring about transformative change in Meghalaya.
They emphasised the core principles of the VPP, which aim to drive meaningful progress within the state. The leaders underscored that it is only through the strong and widespread support of the public that the party can fulfill its vision and objectives to usher in this much-needed transformation.
Syngkon also urged the people to give VPP the opportunity to lead. He highlighted that empowering the VPP with public support is essential for the party to implement its policies and chart a new course for Meghalaya’s development.
