Twenty-three students who passed their recent exams with flying colours were felicitated by the Keatinge Road Welfare Organisation (KRWO) and local MLA Ampareen Lyngdoh yesterday.
Ten of the students were honoured for their Class 10 exam results and 13 for their Class 12 results.
Also present on the occasion were dignitaries such as Ahmed Hussain, Naba Bhattacharjee and Bimal Bajaj.
The deserving students were presented with mementos and received cash awards – Rs 15,000 to those who secured 90 percent and above, Rs 10,000 for 70-plus percent and Rs 7,000 for 60-plus percent.
Lyngdoh also announced that she would provide financial assistance to needy students belonging to economically weaker families coupled with laptops to meritorious students of all localities of the KRWO by December this year the MLA Area Development Fund.
