Nongpoh MLA Mayralborn Syiem, accompanied by Nongpoh MDC Balajied Rani, met with the Deputy Commissioner of Ri-Bhoi and Chairman of the District Selection Committee (DSC), urging for the prompt declaration of the recruitment results for posts for 2020-2021, which have yet to be announced.
Syiem has received numerous complaints from local youths who had applied for various posts, as well as concerns voiced by their parents regarding the delay in the declaration of the results.
In an official meeting held today, Syiem and Rani with the DC, Abhilash Baranwal, and DSC Member Secretary Raja Brahma to discuss the matter in detail.
Speaking to reporters afterwards, Syiem stated that the discussion was productive. Baranwal and Brahma assured that they would address the matter seriously and expedite the declaration of the results by September.
He also informed that the main reason for the delay of the results is the absence of a roster system and many departments are preparing for the roster system as per the reservation policy.
Furthermore, Syiem recommended that the DC ensure other vacancies within the purview of the DSC in Ri-Bhoi be advertised promptly. This would provide more opportunities for the unemployed youths of the district, he felt. Syiem also stressed the need for a transparent recruitment process based on the eligibility of the candidates.
