Shillong, Sep 24: The All-India Law Graduate Conclave 2026 began today at the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM), bringing together law graduates, academics and practitioners from across the country.
The three-day event features competitions including Moot Court, Judgment Writing, Extempore Speech, Law Quiz, Debate and Crime Scene Investigation. This is the third and largest edition of the USTM Moot Court Competition.
The inaugural session was attended by Cabinet Minister Brening A. Sangma, Meghalaya State Bar Council Chairman S.P. Mahanta, USTM Vice Chancellor Prof. G.D. Sharma, Professor Emeritus Prof. Subhram Rajkhowa, Pro Vice Chancellor Padma Shri Dr. Sarbeswar Sahariya, among others.
Addressing the gathering, Sangma said the legal profession carries great responsibility towards society. “Conclaves such as this provide young law graduates with an opportunity to exchange ideas, broaden their understanding and prepare themselves to contribute meaningfully to the justice system,” he said.
Nearly 100 colleges from different parts of the country are participating in the conclave.
Former Chief Justice of India Justice B.R. Gavai and Meghalaya High Court Chief Justice Revati Mohite Dere, along with other legal luminaries will attend the valedictory session on September 26.
