A man was found dead in the charred remains of his hut on a farm in Sohlait Thymmai in Ri-Bhoi today.
The remains of a body were found by the family members of Braveman Khongjoh (30) after he failed to return home and was unreachable over the phone.
It is not yet known what caused the fire in the hut.
According to Braveman’s father, Ale Khongjoh, his son went to the farm on Saturday and was supposed to return today. However, as he did not come back and his mobile phone was switched off, they went personally to the farm where they found the hut burnt down with human remains on site.
Police are trying to ascertain the cause of the fire.
