The Dorbar Shnong Lama has denied accusations made by its resident, Thrina Suchen on ostracism and misappropriation of the rural employment guarantee scheme (MGNREGS) funds in the village.
Suchen has accused the Dorbar Shnong of ostracising her for filing an RTI related to the MGNREGS schemes where it was found that there was a misuse of funds to the tune of several lakh rupees.
The dorbar held a meeting yesterday wherein the waheh shnong, Tell Me Dong refuted her claims and said that the village has never ostracised her and that she benefitted from all schemes equally like any other resident of Lama.
Stating that the dorbar has never barred villagers from buying items from her shop and from entering her house, Dong said that depends on the people of the village and the dorbar has no say on the issue.
Secretary of the village, Charling Syrti too denied that he offered bribe to Suchen and said that he does not have that amount (Rs 50,000) to shell out while secretary of the VEC, Eladmi Suchen stated that following the RTI in 2019, the district administration had concluded that there was no misuse of funds. He said all job card holders were duly paid.
