The Reserve Bank of India, Shillong, conducted the state level round of the All India Quiz on Financial Literacy 2023 here yesterday.
Over the last two months, RBI Shillong had conducted quizzes across various blocks and districts of the state and subsequently, a total of nine teams representing different districts qualified for the state level quiz.
The quiz was inaugurated by Olden Nongpluh, General Manager of RBI Shillong, and the chief guest was Commissioner and Secretary Pravin Bakshi.
The programme was conducted with a motive to give further impetus to financial literacy efforts, particularly among school children and fulfil the vision of creating a financially aware and empowered India. The topics related to Meghalaya, RBI, banking/financial sector, Indian economy, including the G20 forum, were covered in the quiz.
The team from Kendriya Vidyalaya Happy Valley emerged as winners, while second and third places were taken by Tura Public School and Mawrong RMSA Secondary School, Ri-Bhoi, respectively.
The winners were given cash prizes of Rs 20,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively along with a trophy and certificate. All the participating teams were provided with G20 kits and participation certificates.
The winning team will represent Meghalaya at a zonal level quiz.
