Expressing dismay over the delay in construction of a PMGSY road, the Khasi Students Union (KSU), Mawrap Jerlang area unit has urged concerned authorities to carry out an inspection of the road.
According to the union, the 19.303 km road from Photjaud–Mawkhyrwang has been left unattended for almost a year by the M/S Marweiñ Construction.
They said that the road which connects the district headquarter and eight villages of Mawrap, Jerlang, Mawsaiñ, Mawtangden, Mawkhyrwang, Nongnam, Mawbri, and Lumpyngngad has put commuters in great hardships because of the long delay in completing the project.
The KSU has urged PWD authorities to hasten the road construction and took up the matter with the Executive Engineer PWD (Road), Mawkyrwat Division.
