The Sanshnong unit of the Khasi Students Union (KSU) has demanded that the Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation Ltd (MePDCL) pay compensation to a boy who was injured after being electrocuted in Pyndenlyngdoh.
Astronomis Kharhari, a Class 9 student, had to have a finger amputated and is still receiving hospital treatment for other injuries incurred in the November 23 incident.
The KSU claimed that it had earlier demanded that the MePDCL put up fencing around the transformer in the area where Kharhari was injured.
