A one-day knowledge sharing workshop of best practices (under Megh -LAMP) was organised by the West Jaintia Hills Project Management Unit of the Meghalaya Basin Management Agency (MBMA) in Ladthadlaboh, Jowai yesterday.
District Project Management Unit Sywell Lyngdoh said the aim of the workshop is to impart information and knowledge to the farmers and agripreneurs so as they could enhance their agricultural practices for much better growth and production and also to promote sustainable development practices.
Work implementation was also shared by four members of the Integrated Village Cooperative Societies (IVCS) who highlighted the benefits gained through proper implementation of the scheme in their concerned area.
Jowai MLA Wailadmiki Shylla who attended the programme as the chief guest urged the department to ensure that any project implementation or schemes should have the capability to generate revenue and employment.
A panel discussion on the topics “Inclusive supply chain and enterprise development” and “Impact of Rural Finance in West Jaintia Hills District” was also held attended by eminent personality H.H Mohrmen, Fr. James Syiemlieh, Chanky Lyngdoh, and Commander Shangpliang and representative from Sesta.
