Shillong, Oct 7: ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, West Garo Hills, distributed fish fingerlings under the TDC-NICRA programme for climate-resilient aquaculture demonstration on Tuesday at Marapara and Bagugre villages in Dalu Block.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Puja Chakraborty, Subject Matter Specialist (Aquaculture), who interacted with farmers on proper stocking, pond management and adoption of improved fish production practices suited to local conditions.
A total of 124 kg of fingerlings were distributed among 21 beneficiaries from the two villages for demonstration.
The intervention aims to promote improved fish production, enhance farm-level resilience and encourage suitable aquaculture practices under changing climatic conditions. Beneficiaries were advised on management practices to ensure better survival, growth and productivity.
